In Greece, the Code on the Legal Profession, originally dating back to 1954, was updated by Act 4194/2013.
Further, a code of legal ethics that dates back to 1986 is also applicable. Neither of the aforementioned documents make any direct reference to CLE. Further, there is no National Bar Association in Greece, but a Council composed of the Presidents of the various Bar Associations, operating as a coordinating body, with no executive and/or disciplinary powers. However, recent debates suggest that the legal profession may soon by subject to significant reforms, which will also concern the matter of continuing legal education.
